100 Word Challenge!

The Chipmunks have been entered into a national weekly 100 word challenge!

On every Wednesday evening, a new prompt will be posted onto the class blog site http://kidblog.org/3smblChipmunks/ where the children write a response in 100 words or as close as possible, but not over 100 words.

Mr Capes will then upload entries onto the 100WC website where they can been viewed. Some entries have already been uploaded and can be found at http://100wc.net/tag/100wc/

Please scroll down the page until your reach all the entries!

St Mary’s Jubilee Celebrations! – Monday 11th June

The time is near for the staff and children of St Mary’s to celebrate the Queens Jubilee!

The children can come to school dressed as Kings and Queens on this day or alternatively they can dress in red, white and blue.

During the morning, the children will be learning about the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and will be completing activities planned by their class teacher. From 2pm, we will be having a tea party on the field. This has been organised by the PTFA  and parents are welcome to join us for nibbles and cake.

Whilst the tea party is happening, the Face Britain art exhibition in the school hall will be officially opened. The Deputy Town Mayor, Roger Knight will be opening the gallery with the school council. Once the tea party has finished and you have collected your child from class you are invited to come and view the art work that has been displayed.

Every child’s self portrait will feature in the exhibition. The gallery will be open until 7.30 pm to enable all parents, grandparents and family members to come and view the children’s work. The children are very proud of their achievements and it would be great if you could come and share this.
